When someone who only sees their own world meets someone who pulls everything around them with sheer energy, one gets absorbed and the other resists.
RLOEI is initially pulled along by SLUAN's energy. SLUAN wants to bring RLOEI into their reality. But RLOEI hates reality. SLUAN finds RLOEI "too unreal." RLOEI finds SLUAN "too inconsistent." Their worlds are too far apart.
When SLUAN tries to drag RLOEI into their world, RLOEI resists. As the shadows surface, SLUAN pushes harder and RLOEI gets more escapist. SLUAN tries to force RLOEI out, and RLOEI rejects every attempt.
The early pull fades fast. SLUAN drags RLOEI to a couple of group dinners, and the first one even goes okay — RLOEI nods along, watches the room. By the third invite RLOEI sends a vague excuse and stays home. SLUAN reads that as flaking and gets quietly hurt. RLOEI feels each of those nights erases a little more of who they are. Same calendar, same plan, but every shared evening lands them somewhere different — SLUAN energized at 1 a.m., RLOEI relieved to be alone with a book again.
“If SLUAN respects RLOEI's world, and RLOEI can come into reality a little at a time, the two can find balance. But that needs a give from both.”
