A free-spirited wanderer (SCUEN) and a worrier on stage (SLOAI) both have presence, but in very different ways. SCUEN is free, SLOAI is anxious. When they first meet, SLOAI is attracted to SCUEN's freedom.
SCUEN hates being tied down. SLOAI wants to be tied down and also recognized. SCUEN's freedom can reassure SLOAI sometimes, but other times it makes SLOAI even more anxious. "When will this person leave me?" haunts SLOAI constantly. SCUEN doesn't understand this anxiety.
SCUEN's shadow side becomes even more free. SLOAI's shadow side becomes even more anxious. When SCUEN hints "I'm going to leave," SLOAI cries out "Please don't go." But SCUEN is already ready to depart.
SLOAI wants to deepen the relationship, but SCUEN is always preparing to leave. This difference keeps SLOAI feeling lonely.
“For these two to be together, SCUEN needs to have room to hold SLOAI within their freedom, and SLOAI needs to accept SCUEN's wandering desire. But if one fundamentally wants to leave and the other wants to stay, the conflict is unavoidable.”
